We are thrilled to share the successful completion of Result 2: “Methodology for Integration and Assignment for Development of an E-Learning Web Platform with VR Practical Module.” This milestone under the RealVR project lays out a structured framework for modernizing vocational education and training (VET) in the real estate sector.

Overview of Result 2

The methodology outlines a step-by-step process for integrating cutting-edge VR technologies into a user-friendly e-learning platform. Designed to meet EU educational standards, this framework aims to enhance both theoretical learning and practical training for students, educators, and businesses in the real estate sector.

Key focus areas of the methodology include:

  1. Needs Analysis and Requirements Gathering: Understanding VET gaps, stakeholder needs, and the technological landscape.

  2. Platform Design: A robust, user-centric platform that merges e-learning content with VR tools.

  3. Integration of VR Modules: Practical 360° VR training scenarios aligned with theoretical curricula.

  4. Pilot Testing: Ensuring quality, usability, and iterative refinement based on user feedback.

  5. Scalability and Sustainability: Long-term adaptability of the platform to meet evolving industry needs.

Key Features of the Methodology

1. Structured Development Process

The methodology follows a logical sequence of steps:

  • Needs Analysis: Identifying stakeholders, gathering requirements via surveys, interviews, and workshops.

  • Design Phase: Developing technical architecture, intuitive UI/UX designs, and VR content guidelines.

  • Development and Testing: Building the e-learning platform and VR Builder tool, followed by thorough Quality Assurance (QA).

  • Integration and Refinement: Implementing feedback-driven improvements after pilot testing.

2. Innovative VR Integration

The VR modules offer:

  • Immersive 360° scenarios for practical real estate training.

  • A VR Builder Tool using technologies like Krpano, enabling trainers to create and customize VR content with minimal technical expertise.

  • Interactive Info Spots for embedding multimedia elements (text, audio, video) within VR spaces.

3. Alignment with EU Standards

The platform aligns with:

  • EN 15733:2010 – EU requirements for real estate services.

  • Modern VET curricula tailored to real-world industry needs, such as property management and facility operations.

4. User-Centric Design

  • A focus on usability, accessibility (WCAG 2.1 standards), and multilingual support for inclusivity.

  • Tools for learners to track progress and for educators to manage and tailor content efficiently.

Expected Impact

This methodology ensures a transformative learning experience by:

  • Bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world practice.

  • Enhancing learner engagement through VR-based training in a controlled environment.

  • Equipping educators and trainers with intuitive tools to create high-quality VR scenarios.

  • Addressing industry demands by preparing a skilled workforce aligned with EU standards.

The platform's VR integration will also make training more accessible, particularly for socially excluded groups and individuals with fewer opportunities.

Next Steps

With the completion of the methodology, the RealVR team will now begin the platform development phase. This involves creating the e-learning platform, developing VR training modules, and conducting pilot testing to validate the platform's functionality and impact.

The RealVR project is a step towards revolutionizing vocational education in the real estate sector by blending technology and pedagogy. Stay connected for more updates as we bring this innovative learning platform to life!
